Recognizing Student and Staff Volunteers!

In honour of National Volunteer Week, KPR schools are pleased to recognize the outstanding contributions of volunteers. Today we are highlighting Clarington Central Secondary School Grade 12 students Naz Gul Ali Madad and Gracieth Domingos who are leaders in their school community, and Clarington Central school staff Faith Sadera and Paola Rodriguez who have made significant contributions to creating welcoming, inclusive environments.

Faith and Paola are recognized for their ongoing dedication to the school’s Students of Culture Alliance group and their leadership in organizing Culture Week. Both Faith and Paola are staff members who consistently volunteer countless hours to create inclusive, meaningful experiences that celebrate the diversity of the Clarington Central school community.

As Vice President of the Muslim Student Association, Naz Gul plays an instrumental role in increasing cultural awareness and fostering inclusivity. One of her most notable accomplishments was coordinating the annual Iftar Potluck, an event that welcomed students and staff from all backgrounds to learn about and experience the significance of Ramadan and created a welcoming space rooted in education, respect, and shared understanding.

Naz Gul is also involved in Student Government, where she supports school events, including dances, Relay for Life, and the Terry Fox campaign. Naz Gul volunteers for Breakfast Club, is a tutor for Reading and Math Buddies, an artist in Portraits for Seniors, a Teacher Assistant in an evening literacy program, and a Clinic Assistant during her cooperative education placement!

Gracieth is an active member of Clarington Central’s Students of Culture Alliance, where she collaborates with peers to plan and deliver impactful initiatives such as Culture Week and Black History Month programming. Gracieth is also a member of Student Government where she promotes student voice and engagement and supports school events, including the Terry Fox Run and school dances. Her service extends further through her volunteer work with the Breakfast Club, and behind the scenes contributions in school musicals, assisting with both set design and ticket sales. These commitments highlight her reliability, teamwork, and passion for school life!

Hats off to the amazing volunteer efforts of these Clarington Central students and staff!
