Dear KPR Families,
This week is a busy one for students, staff and families 鈥� finishing projects and squeezing culminating assignments and tests in before the winter break, all while making time for some fun celebrations. It鈥檚 times like these when we see, once again, the incredible passion and commitment of our school communities 鈥� one of the things that makes our KPR community so special.听听
As follow up to the 鈥淲elcome to School鈥� information session held in August, KPR and the New Canadians Centre will be hosting a virtual check in for New to Canada and Multilingual Language Learner Families on Wednesday, October 2 from 6:30 鈥� 7:30pm.
In partnership with the New Canadians Centre, the 91短视频 District School Board will be offering a one-day introduction to school听information session听for New to Canada and Multilingual Language Learner Families.听
KPR's 2024 Community Report Card offers a unique glimpse into the many amazing achievements of our students, staff, and school communities during the 2023-2024 school year!
It was our great pleasure to听honour听Ryan Ramage, Head Custodian at Buckhorn Public School听(PS), at this week鈥檚 Employee Recognition Dinner as the recipient of the 2024 Sherry听Summersides听Award.听听
This award recognizes a deserving, non-teaching employee of KPR, and the criteria includes a demonstrated dedication to education through their work and/or their voluntary involvement in our school communities.听听
Students at R.F. Downey Public School are starting their mornings in a positive way, ready and focused to learn, thanks to the volunteer efforts of Amanda Murugan who supports the school鈥檚 nutrition program.
For the past three years, Jackie Nicholls has been an active volunteer at Beatrice Strong Public School.听
鈥淲hen delivering snacks and hot lunches to classrooms, Tammy calls students by name and makes a concerted effort to get to know each of them, students absolutely love her! She has a way of making everyone, staff included, feel valued and special,鈥� shares Jennifer Pym-Murphy, Special Education Resource Teacher and Early Intervention Teacher.听
School board trustees are the oldest form of elected representation in Ontario. Since 1807, generations of community-minded citizens have made decisions on behalf of local, publicly funded schools, building the foundation of our system today.
